The curry puffs were great as an appetizer...similar to samosas but a slightly sweeter profile. Loved the drunken noodles and Thai tea. No complaints about this place

Wife and I had Massaman curry and drunken noodles, plus some delicious appetizers. Curry puffs were my favorite. Excellent service as well. Would definitely visit again!

Came here for lunch the other day and was very pleased! IThe basil sauce veggies with chicken and rice was so flavorful and the Thai iced tea with coconut milk was delicious! The staff were friendly and attentive, the restaurant was clean and comfortable. They have a nice lunch special and the portions were a decent size. Definitely a hidden gem in the area. The first time I came I was surprised by how great the food was. The prices may seem kind of high but the portions are huge. We came again for dinner and it was pretty quiet, but really nice ambiance. They were very attentive and the service was excellent. - Thai iced tea: The Thai tea flavor was pretty strong and it was nice and creamy - Chicken satay: The chicken was so juicy and not dry at all! The dipping sauces were delicious as well. - Drunken noodle with duck: I've never had this combination before but it was sooo good. The drunken noodles weren't too oily and the duck was nice and crispy. - Basil soft shell crab: I love soft shell crab and this was fried to perfection. Nice and crispy without feeling like I was just eating breading. I loved all the veggies that came with it - Lemongrass beef: The dipping sauce is very unique and paired nicely with the lemongrass beef. Honestly this is probably the best Thai food I've had and I'm surprised it was right here in Ronkonkoma! My family was really surprised and this place definitely deserves more recognition.

My boyfriend and I ordered take out from here. For an appetizer we ordered a new offering. We had "Golden Bags." It was fried wontons filled with chicken, shrimp, cilantro and scallions. It had a sweet chili sauce with peanuts for dipping. Although small, it was tasty. It came with 5 wontons. My boyfriend had pad woonsen with beef for his entree. He said it was good. I had sautéed chicken with string bean sauce for my entree. It was spicy, but I enjoy heat. The dish was very tasty. I don't feel there was a lot of chicken though. The ratio of string beans to chicken was off. Flavors were yummy all around. We said we order from here again.

I really do like Thai food...having said that, I can't say I'm a frisky Thai food eater. My meals (for now) stay simple and consistent from one Thai place to the next. This, at least, gives me the ability to compare tastes and flavors of specific dishes and to give two thumbs up (maybe even three if I can borrow someone's) to a place like Phayathai. Starting from my minimal Thai appetite (almost wrote appe-Thai-te...and here we are anyway), my fiancée and I ordered up dinner from Phayathai a few weeks ago with relatively quick results. The ordering took place online which is always a nice way of picking out your edible options. I liked how Phayathai offered different levels of heat, something that definitely boosted my enjoyment, though potentially packed too much punch for the lady (more on that in a moment). Upon our Thai food pickup, we found the interior of Phayathai to be nothing spectacular and honestly somewhat similar to a few other Thai food spots (it reminded me of Thai Thai Villa in Huntington most specifically). It still looked clean and we were immediately greeted by an employee who handed us our food before we were on our hungry way. So what did we order? Well like I said, our tastes are/were pretty basic and so we began with veggie spring rolls. These were crisp and pretty tasty with that quintessential side of sweet chili sauce to help give 'em a little pop. Speaking of pop, that's where we get back to the heat level of things. The fiancée and I chose to split some chili paste fried rice with a medium heat level. I went for an order of drunken noodles also at a medium heat level, while the lady chose to keep her pad Thai meal with no extra spice. Boy howdy did the medium level of heat hold a nice kick, so much so that I had to finish off the fried rice on my own (the next day due to the need for some leftovers). I did polish off my drunken noodles which were superb and had the spice I always hoped to get from this supposedly spicy dish. It never seems to make me sweat from other spots, but that medium heat was perfect here at Phayathai. The lady's Pad Thai was also pretty legit. Overall, Phayathai is an above-quality Thai food location. It may not look like much, but their menu has what it takes to stand up against other Thai storefronts. We'll definitely be ordering from Phayathai again sometime soon (probably for pickup...and maybe with a little less heat for the future Mrs. G). But hey, with basic Thai food as good as theirs, you never know what kind of spicy items I might veer off to try in the future.
